Movie Review: The Sorcerer's Apprentace

There are allot of movies that now include magic, some successful, some unsuccessful, the most successful movie, or movie series about magic is the Harry Potter series, none of the other movies about magic goes near the quality of the Harry Potter series, the only question is: did 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' reach that level? I'd say it did not go close, for a few minor and major errors.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice has a thrilling story, it mainly circles around Balthazar Blake, a sorcerer, trying to save the world from an evil sorcerer named Maxium Horvath, who is trying to free an evil sorceress from a doll shaped prison, but Balthazar can't stop Horvath alone, so he recruits a collage student named Dave Stutler , in order to teach him sorcery, and help him defeat Horvath, but the problem with that whole story is that it was not enough for a 2 hour movie, the story was too slow, and also had some needless filler scenes.
There was also some weak acting and some needless characters , such as Becky Barnes, a somewhat pointless character , played poorly by Teresa Palmer, there was also another weak character named Drake Stone, who was also portrayed poorly by Toby Kebbell ,but other than those two characters and actors, most of the cast did a good job, especially Nicolas Cage as Balthazar, and Alfred Molina, who did a great job as the villain 'Doc Ock' in Spider-Man 2, also did a great job as the villain in this movie, Maxium Horvath.
The movie did have some great moments, allot of great action scenes, as well as some scenes that showed a great relation between science and magic, but at the same time there were also some extremely stupid, and needless scenes, such as the scene where Dave uses magic to clean his lab, that scene was nothing but stupid, still, the movie's good scenes are far more than the movie's bad scenes.
Overall, The Sorcerer's Apprentice clearly has a few minor and major errors, such as some bad acting, a slow story, and some stupid scenes, but the movie's positives where certainly good enough to give this movie the right about of strength to make this movie decent, and enjoyable.
